A tensiomyography (TMG; tensiomyography) setup is applied to the lateral thigh, with a displacement probe positioned perpendicular to the skin over the vastus lateralis and two surface electrodes delivering brief electrical stimulation. The scene depicts skeletal muscle tissue (vastus lateralis within the quadriceps femoris) as part of the human musculoskeletal system in Homo sapiens. In physiology, sports medicine, and biomechanics, TMG is a noninvasive measurement technique used to quantify radial muscle belly displacement and assess contractile properties, neuromuscular function, fatigue, and recovery.
