A schematic shows a rotating drum collector used in electrospinning (ES). This laboratory apparatus in materials science and biomaterials engineering features a cylindrical mandrel on bearings between supports, rotating to align charged polymer jets into continuous nanofibers that deposit as an anisotropic nonwoven scaffold. In hierarchy, individual nanofibers assemble into a fibrous mat suitable for tissue engineering and filtration applications.
