The image shows the plantar aspect of a human foot with the great toe extended (dorsiflexed), illustrating an abnormal plantar reflex response to stimulation of the lateral sole. In clinical neurology, this toe-upgoing response indicates corticospinal (pyramidal) tract dysfunction and is characteristic of an upper motor neuron lesion in Homo sapiens.
