The structure represents a lipid nanoparticle (LNP), specifically an MLV (multilamellar vesicle), formed by self-assembly of amphipathic phospholipid molecules. In the biological hierarchy, individual lipids form bilayer membranes that together constitute a supramolecular vesicle in aqueous solution. In biochemistry and nanomedicine, such vesicles encapsulate hydrophilic cargo in the core and hydrophobic compounds within the membranes, enabling drug delivery and interaction with cellular plasma membranes.
