A gloved researcher performs an intracerebral (IC) injection in an albino laboratory rat (Rattus norvegicus), inserting a fine needle through the skull into the brain, an organ of the central nervous system (CNS). This experimental technique in neuroscience and pharmacology is used to deliver agents directly to brain parenchyma for functional studies.
