An atom–bond diagram shows a polyphenolic small molecule with a flavanone core conjugated to a disaccharide moiety, characteristic of a flavonoid glycoside. In biological hierarchy, this is a secondary metabolite within plant tissues of Citrus spp. (citrus fruits). In biochemistry, pharmacognosy, and physiology, it acts as a bioactive antioxidant that scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and contributes to microvascular protection. The structure features fused aromatic rings and multiple hydroxyl and glycosidic linkages, consistent with a sugar-substituted aglycone located in citrus peel and pulp.
