Anterobasal infarct. This diagram shows the human heart with a focal myocardial infarction on the anterior basal segment of the left ventricle. In cardiovascular anatomy and pathology, the heart is an organ of the circulatory system containing myocardial tissue composed of cardiomyocytes. The lesion depicts necrosis from myocardial infarction (MI), impairing contractile function and conduction. The site lies anterior to the left ventricle (LV), near the base below the aorta and pulmonary trunk, typically in the territory of the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery. Species: Homo sapiens (human).
