Evos microscope. A benchtop digital light microscope with an integrated LCD (liquid crystal display) monitor is shown in side view, featuring a flat stage holding a glass slide, an objective lens turret, and coarse/fine focus controls. In structural hierarchy, the microscope system contains an optical head with objectives above the specimen stage, which in turn supports the mounted slide; the digital display sits atop the imaging body. Within the fields of microscopy, cell biology, histology, and microbiology, this instrument acquires and displays transmitted-light images of cells, tissues, and microorganisms. As a laboratory instrument, it enables visualization, documentation, and teaching by converting optical images from the objective into live digital output on the screen. The illustrated device is designed for placement on a laboratory bench and for use with standard glass slides.
