An eosinophil myelocyte is shown as a granulocytic precursor cell within hematopoietic tissue of the BM (bone marrow). The cell features an eccentric, non‑segmented oval nucleus and abundant coarse eosinophilic cytoplasmic granules characteristic of the eosinophil lineage. In the biological hierarchy, it is a myeloid cell within bone marrow that differentiates via granulopoiesis into mature eosinophils. Relevant to hematology, cytology, and immunology, its developmental role is to generate effector cells that participate in antiparasitic defense and modulation of allergic inflammation.
