Kort sagt \u00e4r halva m\u00e5nen belyst av solen. Eftersom vi tittar p\u00e5 m\u00e5nen fr\u00e5n olika vinklar ser vi bara en del av den belysta halvan av m\u00e5nen och detta orsakar faserna. Exakt samma sak g\u00e4ller f\u00f6r Venus. S\u00e5 om Venus har en halvm\u00e5neformad fas betyder det att vi tittar p\u00e5 Venus \"baksida\". Varje natt skulle den r\u00f6ra sig l\u00e4ngre \u00f6sterut. Det l\u00e5ter ju vettigt. Men hur f\u00f6rklarar du de tillf\u00e4llen d\u00e5 den r\u00f6r sig v\u00e4sterut? Detta inneb\u00e4r att planeternas vinkelhastighet minskar med omloppsbanans avst\u00e5nd. Jorden kretsar \"snabbare\" \u00e4n Mars. Det \u00e4r i den region d\u00e4r jorden passerar Mars som vi f\u00e5r retrograd r\u00f6relse. Genom att anv\u00e4nda en heliocentrisk modell f\u00e5r man en enkel f\u00f6rklaring till Mars retrograda r\u00f6relse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dessa experiment visar hur jorden kretsar runt solen i en sf\u00e4risk form. Men som Rhett Allain skrev, \"<em>skulle vi inte flyga fr\u00e5n en snurrande jord? Skulle inte f\u00e5glar ha sv\u00e5rt att flyga f\u00f6r att h\u00e5lla j\u00e4mna steg med jorden?
