F\u00e5glar \u00e4r en kosmopolitisk grupp med flera arter som \u00e4r mycket viktiga f\u00f6r m\u00e4nniskans ekonomi och uppeh\u00e4lle. Klimatf\u00f6r\u00e4ndringarna hotar dock f\u00e5glarnas m\u00e5ngfald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forskarna Dehorterand och Guillemain studerar f\u00e5glarnas m\u00e5ngfald. De publicerade en artikel med titeln Global diversity of freshwater birds 1<\/sup> (Aves). Enligt f\u00f6rfattarna, \"Av de 10 000 f\u00e5gelarter som lever p\u00e5 jorden beh\u00f6ver 5% (t.ex. 560) livsmilj\u00f6er med s\u00f6tvatten f\u00f6r att uppfylla minst en av sina livshistorieegenskaper.<\/em> Cirka 11 kompletta familjer kan till och med f\u00f6rsvinna om deras v\u00e5tmarkshabitat f\u00f6rsvinner.
