Nobelpriset i fysiologi\/medicin<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nobelpriset i fysiologi eller medicin 2018 tilldelades gemensamt James P. Allison och Tasuku Honjo \"f\u00f6r deras uppt\u00e4ckt av cancerbehandling genom h\u00e4mning av negativ immunreglering\".<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Allison studerade ett protein som fungerar som en broms p\u00e5 immunf\u00f6rsvaret. Han ins\u00e5g potentialen i att frig\u00f6ra bromsen och d\u00e4rigenom sl\u00e4ppa l\u00f6s v\u00e5ra immunceller s\u00e5 att de kan angripa tum\u00f6rer. Han utvecklade sedan detta koncept till en helt ny metod f\u00f6r behandling av patienter.<\/p>\n

Parallellt uppt\u00e4ckte Tasuku Honjo ett protein p\u00e5 immunceller och visade att det ocks\u00e5 fungerar som en broms, men med en annan verkningsmekanism.<\/p>\n

Allison och Honjo visade d\u00e4rf\u00f6r hur olika strategier f\u00f6r att h\u00e4mma immunf\u00f6rsvarets bromsar kan anv\u00e4ndas vid behandling av cancer.<\/p>\n

Nobelpriset i kemi<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Nobelpriset i kemi 2018 delades upp s\u00e5 att Frances H. Arnold fick ena halvan \"f\u00f6r den riktade evolutionen av enzymer\" och George P. Smith och Sir Gregory P. Winter den andra halvan \"f\u00f6r fagdisplay av peptider och antikroppar\".<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00c5rets Nobelpristagare i kemi har inspirerats av evolutionens kraft och anv\u00e4nt samma principer - genetisk f\u00f6r\u00e4ndring och urval - f\u00f6r att utveckla proteiner som l\u00f6ser m\u00e4nsklighetens kemiska problem.<\/p>\n
