N\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller visuell information finns det ett d\u00f6dl\u00e4ge: vissa m\u00e4nniskor har sv\u00e5rt att tolka data i ett mer visuellt format medan andra tycker att det \u00e4r det enklaste s\u00e4ttet att f\u00f6rst\u00e5 information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Okej, problemet h\u00e4r \u00e4r kanske att begreppet visuell information f\u00f6r tankarna till n\u00e5got komplicerat. Svartvita grafer, tabeller och scheman som \u00e4r d\u00e5ligt uppbyggda och g\u00f6r l\u00e4saren \u00e4nnu mer f\u00f6rvirrad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Om s\u00e5 \u00e4r fallet kan jag ber\u00e4tta n\u00e5got f\u00f6r dig: visuell information ska hj\u00e4lpa dig att f\u00f6rst\u00e5, inte g\u00f6ra dig f\u00f6rvirrad. F\u00f6rmodligen hade f\u00f6rfattaren till denna typ av visuell information ingen aning om vad han eller hon gjorde.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tyv\u00e4rr \u00e4r den vetenskapliga v\u00e4rlden full av d\u00e5liga siffror och diagram. Men hur ska vi som forskare<\/span>ts, kan bidra till att g\u00f6ra vetenskapskommunikation mer visuell? Och inte bara visuell, utan \u00e4ven funktionell?<\/span><\/p>\n

H\u00e4r \u00e4r tv\u00e5 konstn\u00e4rer som kan hj\u00e4lpa oss att bli inspirerade att b\u00f6rja. B\u00e5da har ett roligt tillv\u00e4gag\u00e5ngss\u00e4tt och visar oss att visuell information kan vara n\u00e5got mycket enkelt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mona Chalabi \u00e4r datajournalist och presentat\u00f6r.
