Svetovni dan aidsa je od leta 1988 vsako leto 1. decembra. To je mednarodni dan ozave\u0161\u010danja o aidsu, ki ga povzro\u010da oku\u017eba z virusom HIV, in spomina na tiste, ki so umrli zaradi te bolezni. Svetovni dan boja proti aidsu je ena od osmih uradnih svetovnih kampanj na podro\u010dju javnega zdravja, ki jih obele\u017euje Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija (WHO).<\/p>\n

Pomembno je, da ljudi pou\u010dimo o spolni vzgoji ter o razliki med virusom HIV (virusom \u010dlove\u0161ke imunske pomanjkljivosti) in aidsom (sindromom pridobljene imunske pomanjkljivosti). HIV je retrovirus, ki povzro\u010da aids. HIV napade imunski sistem.<\/p>\n

Med boleznijo se virusno breme nenehno pove\u010duje, imunska pomanjkljivost pa se postopoma slab\u0161a (zaradi zmanj\u0161evanja \u0161tevila CD4), zato se HIV\/AIDS ka\u017ee v ve\u010d stopnjah. Svetovna zdravstvena organizacija (SZO) je bolezen HIV razdelila na \u0161tiri stopnje:<\/p>\n

Faza I<\/strong> (znana tudi kot primarna oku\u017eba s HIV): V tej fazi oseba nima nobenih simptomov in se morda niti ne zaveda, da je oku\u017eena.
\nFaza II<\/strong> (znana tudi kot klini\u010dno asimptomatska faza): Ta faza lahko traja 8-10 let brez ve\u010djih simptomov, razen oteklih \u017elez (bezgavk), izgube telesne te\u017ee, razjed v ustih ter blagih oku\u017eb ko\u017ee in nohtov.
\nStopnja III<\/strong> (znana tudi kot simptomatska oku\u017eba s HIV): V tej fazi je imunski sistem mo\u010dno prizadet in pri oku\u017eeni osebi se za\u010dnejo kazati \u0161tevilni simptomi, kot so huda izguba telesne te\u017ee, kroni\u010dna driska, stalna vro\u010dina, tuberkuloza, hude bakterijske oku\u017ebe (npr. plju\u010dnica in meningitis).
\nStopnja IV<\/strong> (znan tudi kot aids): imunski sistem je mo\u010dno po\u0161kodovan, simptomi pa so \u0161e huj\u0161i. Oseba je mo\u010dno oslabela in ima hude ponavljajo\u010de se bakterijske oku\u017ebe. Poleg tega se v telesu razvijejo rak, kot je Kaposijev sarkom, in druge oku\u017ebe, kot so Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), toksoplazmoza in encefalopatija HIV.<\/p>\n

Po podatkih UNAIDS <\/a>je bil v zadnjih 15 letih dose\u017een velik napredek v boju proti aidsu. Rezultati so spodbudili globalno zavezo, da se epidemija kon\u010da do leta 2030:<\/p>\n

Kako deluje virus HIV<\/strong><\/h2>\n

HIV napade imunski sistem prek posebnih vrst belih krvni\u010dk, znanih kot celice CD4. Celice CD4 imajo pomembno vlogo pri usmerjanju in nadzoru delovanja celotnega imunskega sistema. Ko se virus HIV znajde v imunskem sistemu, se razmno\u017euje v celicah CD4. HIV jih med oku\u017ebo onesposobi in ubije ter tako moti njihovo normalno delovanje.<\/p>\n
