Drosophila melanogaster<\/em> ali sadne mu\u0161ice so eden najpomembnej\u0161ih modelov v medicinskih in znanstvenih \u0161tudijah. Glavni razlog za njihovo pomembnost je, da je bil genom sadnih mu\u0161ic v celoti razkodiran in je zelo podoben \u010dlove\u0161kemu.<\/p>\n

Povezanost genomov je tako tesna, da je mogo\u010de \u0161tudije simulirati na sadnih mu\u0161icah in jih nato raz\u0161iriti na ljudi, \u010deprav sta skupini v evolucijski lestvici dale\u010d narazen. Poleg tega znanje o genomu sadnih mu\u0161ic omogo\u010da izvajanje raziskav, ki jih je la\u017eje predvideti.<\/p>\n
