Je posledica neaktivnega \u017eivljenjskega sloga, debelosti ali slabe prehrane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Za razumevanje sladkorne bolezni in njenega nastanka spoznajmo fiziologijo na\u0161ega telesa.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ogljikovi hidrati so glavni vir energije in na\u0161a hrana jih vsebuje v zadostni meri.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pri prebavi hrane ogljikovi hidrati razpadejo v glukozo in se s krvnim obtokom prenesejo do razli\u010dnih telesnih organov. Inzulin nastaja v trebu\u0161ni slinavki in je potreben za vnos glukoze v celice ter prepre\u010duje prese\u017eek sladkorja v krvi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pri sladkorni bolezni pa je proizvodnja inzulina motena (zmanj\u0161ana ali omejena) in ciljne celice zavra\u010dajo sprejemanje glukoze. Sladkorna bolezen se obi\u010dajno razvije s staranjem, vendar jo danes opa\u017eajo tudi pri otrocih, najstnikih in mladih odraslih.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Gestacijski diabetes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gestacijska sladkorna bolezen je stanje, pri katerem se pri nose\u010dnici inzulin ne uporablja u\u010dinkovito.
