Vimos pela primeira vez, uma fotografia de um buraco negro. Os cientistas anunciaram a not\u00edcia durante um evento de transmiss\u00e3o ao vivo. O evento Horizon Telescope (projeto EHT), o Observat\u00f3rio Europeu do Sul e a National Science Foundation (NSF) organizaram o evento.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Os pesquisadores conectaram radiotelesc\u00f3pios ao redor do mundo. O algoritmo criado pela Dra. Katie Bouman e outros cientistas reuniu dados coletados de radiotelesc\u00f3pios espalhados pelo mundo, sob os ausp\u00edcios de uma colabora\u00e7\u00e3o internacional chamada Telesc\u00f3pios Horizonte de Eventos.  O projeto estava estudando dois buracos negros supermassivos, o Sagit\u00e1rio A (Via Lactea) e o centro da gal\u00e1xia M87. A revista Astrophysical Journal Letters publicou a foto em uma edi\u00e7\u00e3o especial. Katie Bouman compartilhou uma foto em seu Facebook mostrando a equipe respons\u00e1vel pelos novos dados sobre os buracos negros.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\"Estou t\u00e3o animado que finalmente podemos compartilhar aquilo em que temos trabalhado durante o ano passado! A imagem mostrada hoje \u00e9 a combina\u00e7\u00e3o de imagens produzidas por v\u00e1rios m\u00e9todos. Nenhum algoritmo ou pessoa fez esta imagem, ela exigiu o incr\u00edvel talento de uma equipe de cientistas de todo o mundo e anos de trabalho duro para desenvolver o instrumento, processamento de dados, m\u00e9todos de imagem e t\u00e9cnicas de an\u00e1lise que eram necess\u00e1rios para realizar esta proeza aparentemente imposs\u00edvel. O que \u00e9 um buraco negro?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">De acordo com o projeto EHT, os buracos negros s\u00e3o objetos c\u00f3smicos extraordin\u00e1rios com enormes massas, mas de tamanhos extremamente compactos. A presen\u00e7a desses objetos afeta seu ambiente de forma extrema, empenando o tempo espacial e super-aquecendo qualquer material ao redor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\"Se mergulhados em uma regi\u00e3o brilhante, como um disco de g\u00e1s brilhante, esperamos que um buraco negro crie uma regi\u00e3o escura semelhante a uma sombra - algo previsto pela relatividade geral de Einstein que nunca vimos antes,<\/em>&nbsp;Presidente do Conselho Cient\u00edfico do EHT&nbsp;<b>Heino Falcke<\/b>&nbsp;da Universidade de Radboud, na Holanda.&nbsp;<em>\"Esta sombra, causada pela flex\u00e3o gravitacional e captura de luz pelo horizonte do evento, revela muito sobre a natureza destes objetos fascinantes e nos permitiu medir a enorme massa do buraco negro do M87\".<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A calibra\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00faltipla e os m\u00e9todos de imagem revelaram uma estrutura semelhante a um anel com uma regi\u00e3o central escura - a sombra do buraco negro - que persistiu sobre m\u00faltiplas observa\u00e7\u00f5es EHT independentes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">O buraco negro tem 40 bilh\u00f5es de quil\u00f4metros de di\u00e2metro. Isto significa 3 milh\u00f5es de vezes o tamanho de nosso planeta - e \u00e9 descrito pelos cientistas como um \"monstro\". Ele tem uma massa 6,5 bilh\u00f5es de vezes maior que a do Sol. E n\u00f3s o estimamos como um dos maiores que j\u00e1 existiram.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alguns buracos negros estavam inativos, mas n\u00e3o este. E isso significa que ele converte g\u00e1s e mat\u00e9ria pr\u00f3xima em energia com 100 vezes mais efici\u00eancia do que a fus\u00e3o nuclear que alimenta as estrelas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Um buraco negro tem diferentes partes e estruturas.
