A floresta tropical amaz\u00f4nica \u00e9 o lugar mais biologicamente diverso da Terra. De todas as esp\u00e9cies conhecidas no mundo, 10% est\u00e3o na floresta tropical amaz\u00f4nica. Mas a maioria das esp\u00e9cies ainda n\u00e3o est\u00e1 descrita. Portanto, o desmatamento e os inc\u00eandios florestais s\u00e3o um enorme risco para toda a vida na Terra. Precisamos parar ou pelo menos diminuir a taxa atual de desmatamento. Caso contr\u00e1rio, a WWF estima que 27% do bioma Amaz\u00f4nia estar\u00e1 sem \u00e1rvores at\u00e9 2030.<\/p>\n

Uma em cada 10 esp\u00e9cies conhecidas na Terra<\/h2>\n

Com os dados que j\u00e1 temos, \u00e9 poss\u00edvel ver como a floresta tropical \u00e9 importante para manter a vida na Terra. No entanto, provavelmente conhecemos apenas uma pequena parte de todo o n\u00famero de esp\u00e9cies. A maioria das esp\u00e9cies de invertebrados, como os artr\u00f3podes, ainda s\u00e3o desconhecidas para n\u00f3s. Como as esp\u00e9cies de vertebrados s\u00e3o mais f\u00e1ceis de identificar e de classificar. Mas existem estudos cient\u00edficos<\/a> o show de que para cada esp\u00e9cie de mam\u00edfero h\u00e1 tr\u00eas centenas de esp\u00e9cies de artr\u00f3podes nas florestas tropicais.<\/p>\n

Segundo a WWF, a floresta tropical amaz\u00f4nica \u00e9 o lar de mais de mil esp\u00e9cies diferentes de aves como beija-flores, beija-flores de canal, araras e araras, a Amaz\u00f4nia \u00e9 uma das \u00e1reas mais diversificadas para aves no mundo.\u00a0Araras<\/a>Um \u00edcone da Amaz\u00f4nia, s\u00e3o altamente inteligentes e sociais, vivendo em bandos de 10 a 30 aves. At\u00e9 hoje, conhecemos pelo menos 80.000 esp\u00e9cies de plantas na floresta tropical amaz\u00f4nica. Segundo a WWF, 40.000 esp\u00e9cies destas plantas desempenham um papel cr\u00edtico na regula\u00e7\u00e3o do clima global e na sustenta\u00e7\u00e3o do ciclo h\u00eddrico local.<\/p>\n

Voc\u00ea pode compreender a enorme biodiversidade se tentar encontrar duas \u00e1rvores da mesma esp\u00e9cie caminhando alguns minutos na floresta tropical amaz\u00f4nica. Voc\u00ea caminhar\u00e1 atrav\u00e9s de esp\u00e9cies muito diferentes. Apenas a parte ocidental da\u00a0Bacia do Rio Amazonas<\/span><\/a>\u00a0tem a maior diversidade de \u00e1rvores do mundo.<\/p>\n
