O di\u00f3xido de carbono \u00e9 um g\u00e1s importante do efeito estufa. Normalmente, o sol aquece a superf\u00edcie do planeta durante o dia, mas durante a noite o planeta esfria ao liberar radia\u00e7\u00e3o infravermelha (calor) de volta para o espa\u00e7o.
