Deze kleine lobopodia-soort is ongeveer 500 miljoen jaar oud en lijkt op een worm - op zijn 20 tot 30 poten na. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Afgezien van de hoeveelheid benen, dit kleine schepsel genaamd <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ovatiovermis cribratus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> heeft nog andere interessante kenmerken. Diep in de zee levend tijdens het Cambrium, de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ovatiovermis cribratus <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">verankerde zich op de bodem van de oceaan en gebruikte zijn poten om het water te filteren. Dit voedingsgedrag doet denken aan een dansje, zoals u kunt zien in deze verbazingwekkende 3D-video:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"500 miljoen jaar oude lobopodi\u00ebr\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/emUXb8lejNo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wetenschappers proberen op basis van deze nieuwe bevindingen een evolutieboom voor geleedpotigen op te stellen. Twee belangrijke kwesties houden hen echter nog tegen:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lobopoda zijn uitgestorven. Dat betekent dat we geen moleculaire gegevens kunnen verkrijgen om hun stamboom op te bouwen op dezelfde manier als bij levende soorten. We moeten op zoek naar fossielen en anatomische informatie om een evolutiescenario op te stellen.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hoewel er andere lobopodia-fossielen zijn gevonden, vertonen deze een grote diversiteit en onderlinge verschillen.
