Hoe de wetenschappelijke wereld zich uitdrukt<\/h3>\n

De realiteit is niet goed. De meeste bevindingen worden alleen geregistreerd in lange en saaie papers die nooit zullen worden gelezen.<\/p>\n

Als een wetenschapper ondertussen afbeeldingen probeert te vinden om zijn bevindingen wat visueler te maken, moet hij genoegen nemen met Google Images, omdat het erg moeilijk is wetenschappelijke illustraties te vinden.<\/p>\n

\"Wetenschappelijk<\/a><\/p>\n

Zelfs de beste wetenschappelijke tijdschriften worstelen met visuele communicatie. Nature is een van de beste tijdschriften in de wetenschap. In Nature Reviews vinden we zelfs veel voorbeelden van het vertalen van geschreven gegevens in grafische samenvattingen. Sommige kunnen echter nog wel wat verbeteringen gebruiken.<\/p>\n

De drang om wetenschap visueler te maken blijkt uit het belang dat papers met grafieken of diagrammen hebben. The Economist schreef over de waarheid achter \"A picture is worth a thousand words\" en zei dat grafieken en diagrammen inderdaad meer citaties opleveren. Dat is heel logisch als je bedenkt hoeveel onderzoeken er elke dag worden gepubliceerd en hoe we wanhopig zoeken naar cijfers telkens als we een nieuw artikel lezen.<\/p>\n

Wetenschap en visuele communicatie<\/h3>\n

Aangezien er behoefte is aan visuele communicatie in de wetenschap en wij moeite hebben met de online beschikbare beelden, was er behoefte aan een nieuw instrument.<\/p>\n

Mind the Graph is opgericht om te voorzien in de vraag naar wetenschappelijk accurate illustraties. Niet alleen willen we nog steeds de wetenschapscommunicatie verbeteren en wetenschappers helpen meer zichtbaarheid aan hun werk te geven. We proberen het echter niet voor hen te doen. In plaats daarvan willen we dat wetenschappers 100% in staat zijn om hun eigen grafische samenvatting, posters, presentaties en infographics te bouwen.<\/p>\n

Ons creatief proces<\/h3>\n

In plaats van een figuur te maken door vormen en plaatjes te combineren die niet bij elkaar passen, vind je nu wetenschappelijke illustraties bedacht voor wetenschappers.<\/p>\n
