Het is daarentegen geweldig om te ontdekken dat iemand over de hele wereld je werk leest en citeert.<\/p>\n<p>Maar hoe weet u wat er met uw onderzoek is gebeurd? Als uw publicaties een goede repercussie hebben, betekent dit dat uw werk relevant is voor de samenleving. Wetenschappers houden ervan de wereld om ons heen te onderzoeken. Zich zorgen maken over hoe andere mensen kunnen profiteren van nieuwe bevindingen is echter ook een deel van het werk.<\/p>\n<p>Een eenvoudige manier om uw werkreputatie bij te houden is door gebruik te maken van Scholar Google. Bij het tabblad Mijn citaties kunt u Google inschakelen om uw publicaties en citaties bij te houden. Met deze tool kunt u papers individueel volgen, zodat u weet wie uw werk citeert!<\/p>\n<p>Voor iets meer details kunt u kijken naar het door Elsevier ontwikkelde Article Usage Report. Op het Article Usage Dashboard kunt u zien hoe vaak uw paper is geraadpleegd en door welke landen. Het kan zo eenvoudig zijn als een wetenschapsblog of een facebookpagina om je belangrijkste bevindingen op te plaatsen.<\/p>\n<p>Een ander goed idee is om te schrijven voor wetenschappelijke tijdschriften. Lezers van deze tijdschriften zijn nieuwsgierig naar de wetenschappelijke wereld.
