Bij wetenschapskunst denken de meesten van ons meteen aan superrealistische en complexe illustraties. Maar wat als het niet zo hoeft te zijn?<\/p>\n

Dat dacht Charley Harper ook.<\/p>\n

In een tijd waarin wetenschappelijke kunst draaide om illustraties die de kleinste details van de echte wereld getrouw weergaven, gaf Charley ons een nieuw gezichtspunt.<\/p>\n

Hij noemt zichzelf een kunstenaar-natuurkundige en heeft zijn carri\u00e8re gewijd aan het illustreren van de wilde dieren. Maar hij deed het niet op de manier die men gewend was. Bekijk Charley's stijl:<\/p>\n

Charley's werk heeft een beetje humor en een veel eenvoudiger streepje dat alleen rekening houdt met relevante informatie. Zijn gevoel voor leven en vormen met een kleine twist stond garant voor een enorme weerslag. Zo werd hij een referentie in de wetenschapskunstwereld.<\/p>\n

Zoals Charley zelf zegt, was hij de enige wildartiest die nooit werd vergeleken met Audubon<\/a>\u00a0- een van de grootste talenten in de wetenschapskunst.<\/p>\n

De boodschap is duidelijk: het is niet nodig de zaken te compliceren. Elk streepje heeft een doel en moet doelbewust zijn.<\/p>\n

Zijn illustraties ontkrachten het idee dat alleen sterk uitgewerkte figuren een kans maken in de wetenschappelijke wereld. In plaats daarvan bewijzen ze dat eenvoudig en functioneel werken net zo goed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Neemt u even de tijd om u af te vragen waar u uw tijd in investeert? Hoe vaak denkt u aan de relevantie van het schrijven van een paper? Of het opbouwen van een grafiek? Hoe zit het met uw cijfers?<\/p>\n
