En studie publisert i <\/span>The Lancet <\/span><\/i>i 1998, av Andrew Wakefield, antydet at vaksinen mot meslinger, kusma og r\u00f8de hunder (MMR-vaksinen) kunne utl\u00f8se autisme, noe som f\u00f8rte til en \u00f8kning i antivaksinasjonskampanjer og aktivisme.
