N\u00e5r det gjelder visuell informasjon, er det en fastl\u00e5st situasjon: Noen har vanskelig for \u00e5 tolke data i et mer visuelt format, mens andre synes det er den enkleste m\u00e5ten \u00e5 forst\u00e5 informasjon p\u00e5.<\/span><\/p>\n

Problemet her er kanskje at begrepet visuell informasjon gir assosiasjoner til noe komplisert. Svart-hvite grafer, tabeller og skjemaer som er d\u00e5rlig bygget opp og gj\u00f8r leseren enda mer forvirret.<\/span><\/p>\n

I s\u00e5 fall kan jeg fortelle deg noe: Visuell informasjon skal hjelpe deg \u00e5 forst\u00e5, ikke gj\u00f8re deg forvirret. Forfatteren av denne typen visuell informasjon hadde sannsynligvis ingen anelse om hva han eller hun gjorde.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vitenskapsverdenen er dessverre full av d\u00e5rlige tall og grafer. Men hvordan kan vi som forskere<\/span>ts, kan bidra til \u00e5 gj\u00f8re forskningskommunikasjon mer visuell? Og ikke bare visuell, men ogs\u00e5 funksjonell?<\/span><\/p>\n

Her er to kunstnere som kan hjelpe oss med \u00e5 bli inspirert til \u00e5 begynne. Begge har en morsom tiln\u00e6rming og viser oss at visuell informasjon kan v\u00e6re noe veldig enkelt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mona Chalabi er datajournalist og programleder. Hun er dataredakt\u00f8r i The Guardian US og spaltist i New York Magazine, der hun jevnlig skriver en r\u00e5dgivningsspalte kalt \"Dear Mona\".
