Det er helt naturlig, s\u00e5 det er ingen overraskelse. Men ettersom alt i organismen v\u00e5r henger sammen, ser det ut til at aldrende celler kan p\u00e5virke mye mer enn vi tidligere har trodd. Allikevel finnes det fortsatt aldrende celler i kroppen, og de kan bli v\u00e6rende i kroppen i lange perioder.<\/p>\n<p>Dette er sv\u00e6rt relevant n\u00e5r det er snakk om opphopning av celler og andre stoffer som kan p\u00e5virke kroppens systemer. Nyere studier av hjerte- og karsykdommer har pekt p\u00e5 at aldrende celler kan bidra til utviklingen av \u00e5reforkalkning. N\u00e6rmere bestemt fors\u00f8ker forskerne \u00e5 forst\u00e5 hvilken rolle aldrende celler spiller i plakkdannelsen under utviklingen av \u00e5reforkalkning.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Plaques can become lethal if they fracture and trigger blood clots, which can block arteries and lead to a heart attack or stroke. Forskerne virker imidlertid sv\u00e6rt begeistret for det nye synet p\u00e5 \u00e5reforkalkning.
