Etter desimaltegnet kommer det dessuten tall p\u00e5 trillionerplass som m\u00e5 representeres p\u00e5 en mer kortfattet m\u00e5te. Dette gj\u00f8r det vanskelig \u00e5 skrive ned noen f\u00e5 tall i utvidet format. Derfor bruker vi vitenskapelig notasjon som metode for \u00e5 uttrykke disse verdiene. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forskere, matematikere og statistikere kan for eksempel fors\u00f8ke \u00e5 dele opp store ligninger i mindre deler, slik at de blir lettere \u00e5 beregne.
