Regnskogen i Amazonas er det biologisk mest mangfoldige stedet p\u00e5 jorden. Av alle kjente arter i verden finnes 10% i regnskogen i Amazonas. Men de fleste artene er enn\u00e5 ikke beskrevet. Avskoging og skogbranner utgj\u00f8r derfor en enorm risiko for alt liv p\u00e5 jorden. Vi m\u00e5 stoppe eller i det minste redusere den n\u00e5v\u00e6rende avskogingstakten. Ellers ansl\u00e5r WWF at 27% av Amazonas-biomet vil v\u00e6re uten tr\u00e6r innen 2030.<\/p>\n

En av 10 kjente arter p\u00e5 jorden<\/h2>\n

Med de dataene vi allerede har, er det mulig \u00e5 se hvordan regnskogen er viktig for \u00e5 opprettholde livet p\u00e5 jorden. Men vi kjenner sannsynligvis bare noen f\u00e5 av alle artene som finnes i regnskogen. De fleste arter av virvell\u00f8se dyr, som leddyr, er fortsatt ukjente for oss. Virveldyrene er lettere \u00e5 identifisere og klassifisere. Men det finnes vitenskapelige studier<\/a> viser at for hver pattedyrart finnes det tre hundre leddyrarter i regnskogen.<\/p>\n

Fugler<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If\u00f8lge WWF er regnskogen i Amazonas hjemsted for mer enn tusen forskjellige fuglearter som kolibrier, kanaltukaner, hoatziner og araer, og Amazonas er et av de mest mangfoldige fugleomr\u00e5dene i verden.\u00a0Araer<\/a>er et ikon i Amazonas, og de er sv\u00e6rt intelligente og sosiale og lever i flokker p\u00e5 10 til 30 fugler. De danner par for livet og kan bli opptil 60 \u00e5r gamle. Noen arter kan til og med etterligne menneskelig tale.<\/p>\n
