Il successo nella scienza si misura in base alla quantit\u00e0 di articoli pubblicati. Inizia quindi la corsa alla ricerca.<\/p>\n<p>Possiamo capire perch\u00e9 la pubblicazione delle nostre ricerche sia cos\u00ec importante. Per arrivarci, la strada da percorrere \u00e8 lunga: fare esperimenti e raccogliere dati, per non parlare di passare attraverso i revisori e i direttori delle riviste. All'inizio, un articolo pubblicato significava:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Una buona domanda<\/li>\n<li>Esperimenti ben progettati<\/li>\n<li>Dati rilevanti per la domanda<\/li>\n<li>Analisi e discussione che hanno aggiunto nuovi punti di vista sull'argomento di studio.<\/li>\n<li>Un contributo alla scienza e al mondo in cui viviamo<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Non c'\u00e8 bisogno di essere un genio per capire che non \u00e8 sempre cos\u00ec.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/opinion\/prof-no-one-is-reading-you\">Secondo uno studio<\/a>, gli articoli pubblicati vengono letti in media da 10 persone. E non \u00e8 tutto. 82% degli articoli pubblicati non vengono citati nemmeno una volta - di quelli citati, solo 20% sono stati letti.<\/p>\n<p>Riuscite a immaginare di fare tutto il possibile per pubblicare un articolo e di non farlo leggere a nessun altro oltre agli autori, ai revisori e ai redattori della rivista?<br \/>\nQuesto \u00e8 il destino della maggior parte dei giornali.<\/p>\n<p>Allora perch\u00e9 nella scienza misuriamo il successo in base al numero di articoli pubblicati?<\/p>\n<p>Riuscite a immaginare se misurassimo il nostro successo in un modo diverso? Ad esempio, avremmo bisogno di un modo molto pi\u00f9 semplice per spiegare i nostri studi. I ricercatori sarebbero interessati non solo a pubblicare i loro risultati, ma anche ad assicurarsi che siano facili da capire.<\/p>\n<p>Se diamo un'occhiata al modo in cui le riviste comunicano, possiamo notare che alcune di esse stanno gi\u00e0 cambiando le loro istruzioni di pubblicazione. Oggi le riviste richiedono figure\/plot migliori e persino abstract grafici.<\/p>\n<p>Forse \u00e8 arrivato il momento di pensare in modo diverso al perch\u00e9 e a chi pubblichiamo i nostri risultati.
