Sebagian besar penyakit tidak memiliki dampak yang ekstrim pada kesehatan kita dan tubuh kita mampu melawannya sendiri. Meskipun patogen berevolusi menjadi bentuk yang lebih kebal, manusia telah menemukan cara untuk meningkatkan pengobatan dan menyelamatkan banyak nyawa. Seiring dengan berjalannya penelitian mereka, hal-hal yang aneh tentang virus HIV ditemukan.<\/p>\n<p>Setelah mengumpulkan sampel dari 800 orang yang terinfeksi virus HIV di Afrika, Faria membangun pohon keluarga virus tersebut. Sejarah memberi tahu kita bahwa kota yang menjanjikan ini berubah dengan adanya pembangunan rel kereta api dan pekerja seks - dua bentuk transportasi yang menjadi sarana penyebaran virus HIV.<\/p>\n<p>Pada awalnya, ada dua jenis virus HIV: HIV-1 grup M dan HIV-1 grup O. HIV-1 grup M adalah yang menyebar dari Kinshasa ke seluruh dunia. Sedangkan HIV-1 grup O, berasal dari tempat yang berdekatan namun tidak pernah menyebar, dan tetap berada di Afrika Barat hingga saat ini.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5937 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/output_vx7nah.gif\" alt=\"Virus HIV\" width=\"945\" height=\"708\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Faria percaya bahwa evolusi dari kedua kelompok tersebut dapat membantu kita memahami bagaimana penyakit ini berkembang. Dia berfokus pada perbedaan antara kedua kelompok dan bagaimana hal itu dapat menentukan langkah selanjutnya dari virus.<\/p>\n<p>Menemukan masa lalu HIV bisa menjadi jawaban untuk mengubah masa depan virus ini.
