Les personnes atteintes de schizophr\u00e9nie peuvent donner l'impression d'avoir perdu tout contact avec la r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Pour comprendre le d\u00e9veloppement de la schizophr\u00e9nie, nous devons parler de l'\u00e9lagage synaptique. Selon un article de Nature neuroscience <sup>1<\/sup>, &#8220;<em>l'\u00e9lagage synaptique est le processus d'\u00e9limination des synapses qui se produit pendant la petite enfance jusqu'au d\u00e9but de l'\u00e2ge adulte\".<\/em>&nbsp;Au fur et \u00e0 mesure que le cerveau se d\u00e9veloppe, les apports environnementaux fa\u00e7onnent les circuits neuronaux. Ce processus \u00e9limine les synapses exc\u00e9dentaires g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es au cours du d\u00e9veloppement pr\u00e9coce et renforce les synapses restantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En outre, selon l'hypoth\u00e8se de l'\"\u00e9lagage synaptique\", l'\u00e9lagage synaptique excessif ou d\u00e9sordonn\u00e9 est li\u00e9 \u00e0 la schizophr\u00e9nie. Le psychiatre Irwin Feinberg a soulev\u00e9 cette hypoth\u00e8se en 1982.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En outre, il y a quelques ann\u00e9es, l'imagerie c\u00e9r\u00e9brale humaine et les \u00e9tudes post-mortem ont apport\u00e9 de nouvelles preuves \u00e0 l'appui de l'hypoth\u00e8se de l'\"\u00e9lagage synaptique\". Selon Carl Sellgren, Roy Perlis et leurs collaborateurs, le syst\u00e8me immunitaire pourrait jouer un r\u00f4le dans l'\u00e9lagage synaptique excessif. Leur nouvel article<sup>1<\/sup> publi\u00e9 dans Nature neuroscience d\u00e9crit un mod\u00e8le in vitro qui applique la reprogrammation cellulaire pour \u00e9tudier l'engloutissement des synapses par la microglie, sp\u00e9cifique aux patients atteints de schizophr\u00e9nie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La microglie est un type collectif de neuroglie (cellule gliale) situ\u00e9 dans le cerveau et la moelle \u00e9pini\u00e8re. Elles repr\u00e9sentent 10-15% de toutes les cellules pr\u00e9sentes dans le cerveau. En tant que cellules macrophages r\u00e9sidentes, elles constituent la premi\u00e8re et principale forme de d\u00e9fense immunitaire active dans le syst\u00e8me nerveux central (SNC).
