Queremos capacitar a los cient\u00edficos para permitir una ciencia m\u00e1s visual y accesible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el post, os mostrar\u00e9 un poco de la investigaci\u00f3n original de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/profile\/Yelena_Sterlin2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yelena Sterlin<\/a> y sus colegas. Es estudiante de doctorado en la Facultad de Agricultura, Alimentaci\u00f3n y Medio Ambiente de la Universidad Hebrea de Jerusal\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Su nuevo trabajo&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.researchgate.net\/publication\/330976296_Optimized_Small-Molecule_Pull-Downs_Define_MLBP1_as_an_Acyl-Lipid-Binding_Protein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La optimizaci\u00f3n de los pull-downs de mol\u00e9culas peque\u00f1as define a MLBP1 como una prote\u00edna de uni\u00f3n a acil-l\u00edpidos<\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>aporta luz a las interacciones prote\u00edna-metabolito en las plantas, centr\u00e1ndose en los receptores del \u00e1cido absc\u00edsico (ABA). Tambi\u00e9n es suscriptora de Mind the Graph, por lo que cre\u00f3 una infograf\u00eda en <a href=\"https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\">atenci\u00f3n al gr\u00e1fico<\/a> para explicar su metodolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>La importancia de las prote\u00ednas relacionadas con el dominio START<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seg\u00fan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-018-22538-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Revista Nature<\/a>El \u00e1cido absc\u00edsico (ABA) es la principal fitohormona que interviene en la respuesta al estr\u00e9s abi\u00f3tico y su adaptaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, es un producto agroqu\u00edmico candidato.  El ABA se descubri\u00f3 por primera vez en la d\u00e9cada de 1960. Desde entonces, se ha descubierto que es un regulador clave de procesos tan diversos como la latencia, la germinaci\u00f3n, el desarrollo de las semillas y las respuestas al estr\u00e9s bi\u00f3tico y abi\u00f3tico.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los primeros eventos de la v\u00eda de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n del ABA implican la uni\u00f3n del ABA a los receptores PYR\/PYL\/RCARs. Los receptores pertenecen a la superfamilia del dominio START.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los dominios de la prote\u00edna START son un dominio de uni\u00f3n a l\u00edpidos presente en los genomas de bacterias, protistas, levaduras, plantas y animales. Sin embargo, son m\u00e1s comunes en las plantas. Seg\u00fan<a href=\"https:\/\/genomebiology.biomedcentral.com\/articles\/10.1186\/gb-2004-5-6-r41\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Schrick<\/a>La presencia de dominios START en especies evolutivamente distantes como los animales y las plantas sugiere un mecanismo conservado para la interacci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas con los l\u00edpidos\/esteroles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El art\u00edculo publicado en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/30735592\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El diario de las plantas<\/a> se centra en los receptores de ABA PYR\/PYL\/RCARs.  Los investigadores decidieron optimizar un m\u00e9todo que permitiera identificar los ligandos de las prote\u00ednas del dominio START y de las relacionadas con el dominio START en las plantas, porque<em>&nbsp;\"los ligandos de la prote\u00edna de dominio START son indispensables para el correcto funcionamiento de su prote\u00edna tanto en animales como en plantas, y se demostr\u00f3 que las prote\u00ednas de dominio START de las plantas est\u00e1n implicadas en procesos fisiol\u00f3gicos esenciales\".<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Un resumen visual de la metodolog\u00eda<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Para explicar su metodolog\u00eda, los cient\u00edficos crearon una infograf\u00eda con ilustraciones de gr\u00e1ficos mentales. Es llamativo y m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de entender.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La infograf\u00eda siguiente muestra el flujo de trabajo experimental. Como se puede ver, expresaron y purificaron cuatro prote\u00ednas START. Filtraron e incubaron el sobrenadante que conten\u00eda la fracci\u00f3n soluble nativa utilizando sefarosa de estreptavidina, una resina de afinidad para<wbr>-resoluci\u00f3n de la purificaci\u00f3n de biomol\u00e9culas. A continuaci\u00f3n, analizaron al\u00edcuotas mediante western blot. Para identificar el ligando, eluyeron ligandos putativos y los sometieron a un an\u00e1lisis del sistema LC -MS (cromatograf\u00eda l\u00edquida y espectrometr\u00eda de masas). Ajustaron el m\u00e9todo para descubrir ligandos START.
