Antes de \u00e9l, la comunicaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica se realizaba entre unos pocos acad\u00e9micos utilizando cartas y libros raros.  Luego, durante el siglo XVII, surge una revoluci\u00f3n para mejorar la comunicaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica. Las primeras revistas cient\u00edficas permitieron la propagaci\u00f3n de resultados, datos y nuevas t\u00e9cnicas a mayor escala. El papel cient\u00edfico impuls\u00f3 el progreso cient\u00edfico y tecnol\u00f3gico. Eso fue hace 350 a\u00f1os. Recientemente, un art\u00edculo de The Atlantic,<em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/science\/archive\/2018\/04\/the-scientific-paper-is-obsolete\/556676\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El papel cient\u00edfico est\u00e1 obsoleto<\/a>, <\/em>sugiere<em>&nbsp;<\/em>necesitamos una nueva revoluci\u00f3n en la comunicaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Este es un tema de gran importancia que debe ser discutido por los cient\u00edficos. \u00bfEstamos logrando presentar nuestros resultados en el formato de publicaci\u00f3n actual? \u00bfEs suficiente el formato de art\u00edculo cient\u00edfico para presentar los nuevos datos en el siglo XXI?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Desde que se publicaron los primeros art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos, se han producido pocos cambios. S\u00ed, publicamos en l\u00ednea. Sin embargo, utilizamos \"hojas de papel virtuales\", y las llamamos pdf. Para ilustrar el cuestionamiento, James Somers, el autor del art\u00edculo de atlantic, cita un ejemplo dado por Bret Victor, un investigador que trabaj\u00f3 en Apple:&nbsp;&nbsp;<em>\"Despu\u00e9s de Gutenberg, la imprenta se utiliz\u00f3 sobre todo para imitar la caligraf\u00eda de las biblias.<\/em> Se necesitaron casi 100 a\u00f1os de mejoras t\u00e9cnicas y conceptuales para inventar el libro moderno. Hubo todo este periodo en el que se dispon\u00eda de la nueva tecnolog\u00eda de impresi\u00f3n, pero s\u00f3lo se utilizaba para emular los medios antiguos\". Ahora<em>,<\/em>&nbsp;La herramienta m\u00e1s popular, con diferencia, para comunicar nuestros resultados es el PDF, literalmente una simulaci\u00f3n de una hoja de papel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8114\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/22195957_1947280412177848_2475541483841163827_n.jpg\" alt=\"22195957_1947280412177848_2475541483841163827_n\" width=\"794\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/22195957_1947280412177848_2475541483841163827_n.jpg 794w, https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/22195957_1947280412177848_2475541483841163827_n-248x300.jpg 248w, https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/22195957_1947280412177848_2475541483841163827_n-768x929.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 794px) 100vw, 794px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El primer formato de los art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos era, por lo general, m\u00e1s directo, m\u00e1s corto y menos formal que los actuales. Parece que cuanto m\u00e1s avanza la ciencia, m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil es comunicarla mediante art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos. Utilizamos programas inform\u00e1ticos avanzados para generar nuestros datos y necesitamos presentarlos en una hoja de papel.&nbsp;<em>El software es un medio din\u00e1mico; el papel no.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">El a\u00f1o pasado, la revista Nature public\u00f3 en Internet el art\u00edculo <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/news\/it-s-not-just-you-science-papers-are-getting-harder-to-read-1.21751\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No es s\u00f3lo usted: los art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos son cada vez m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles de leer<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>para discutir el aumento de la jerga en el formato actual de los art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan Somers,<em>&nbsp;Los peri\u00f3dicos de hoy son m\u00e1s largos que nunca y est\u00e1n llenos de jerga y s\u00edmbolos.<\/em> Dependen de cadenas de programas inform\u00e1ticos que generan datos, los limpian, los trazan y ejecutan modelos estad\u00edsticos. Estos programas tienden a estar tan mal escritos y son tan importantes para los resultados que han contribuido a una crisis de replicaci\u00f3n, o dicho de otro modo, a que el art\u00edculo no cumpla con su tarea m\u00e1s b\u00e1sica: informar de lo que realmente se ha descubierto, con la suficiente claridad para que otra persona pueda descubrirlo por s\u00ed misma.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Por eso, en un intento de cambiar esta situaci\u00f3n, muchos cient\u00edficos est\u00e1n desarrollando sus propios programas inform\u00e1ticos. O pasan del mundo acad\u00e9mico a empresas privadas y start-ups. Para explicarlo, Somers cita a Galileo:  \"Galileo no pod\u00eda ir a ning\u00fan sitio a comprar un telescopio, tuvo que construir el suyo propio\".<\/p>\n<p>Estamos de acuerdo con ello.
