Medimos el \u00e9xito en la ciencia por la cantidad de art\u00edculos que hemos publicado. As\u00ed, comienza la carrera por conseguir que nuestra investigaci\u00f3n se lleve a cabo.<\/p>\n<p>Podemos ver por qu\u00e9 es tan importante publicar nuestras investigaciones. Para conseguirlo, hay que recorrer un largo camino haciendo experimentos y recogiendo datos, por no hablar de pasar por revisores y editores de revistas. Al principio, un art\u00edculo publicado significaba:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Una buena pregunta<\/li>\n<li>Experimentos bien dise\u00f1ados<\/li>\n<li>Datos relevantes para la pregunta<\/li>\n<li>An\u00e1lisis y discusi\u00f3n que a\u00f1adieron nuevos puntos de vista al tema de estudio<\/li>\n<li>Una contribuci\u00f3n a la ciencia y al mundo en que vivimos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No hace falta ser un genio para darse cuenta de que esto no es siempre lo que ocurre.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/opinion\/prof-no-one-is-reading-you\">Seg\u00fan un estudio<\/a>Los art\u00edculos publicados son le\u00eddos por una media de 10 personas. Y eso no es todo. 82% de los art\u00edculos publicados ni siquiera se citan una vez; de los que se citan, s\u00f3lo 20% se han le\u00eddo.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfSe imagina tener todos los problemas para publicar un art\u00edculo y que no lo lea nadie m\u00e1s que los autores, los revisores y los editores de la revista?<br \/>\nBueno, ese es el destino de la mayor\u00eda de los peri\u00f3dicos.<\/p>\n<p>Entonces, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 medimos el \u00e9xito en la ciencia por el n\u00famero de art\u00edculos que publicamos?<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfSe imagina que midi\u00e9ramos nuestro \u00e9xito de otra manera? \u00bfQuiz\u00e1s en el n\u00famero de personas que leen nuestros art\u00edculos y los citan?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/article-of-the-future\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6410 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/the-science-of-success.jpg\" alt=\"\u00bfC\u00f3mo se mide el \u00e9xito en la ciencia?\" width=\"640\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/the-science-of-success.jpg 640w, https:\/\/mindthegraph.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/the-science-of-success-300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Si esto fuera cierto, habr\u00eda que hacer algunos cambios. Por ejemplo, necesitar\u00edamos una forma mucho m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de explicar nuestros estudios. A los investigadores les interesar\u00eda, no s\u00f3lo publicar sus resultados, sino tambi\u00e9n asegurarse de que son f\u00e1ciles de entender.<\/p>\n<p>Si echamos un vistazo a c\u00f3mo se comunican las revistas, podemos ver que algunas de ellas ya est\u00e1n cambiando sus instrucciones de publicaci\u00f3n. Hoy en d\u00eda encontramos revistas que solicitan mejores figuras\/plots e incluso res\u00famenes gr\u00e1ficos.<\/p>\n<p>Quiz\u00e1s sea el momento de pensar un poco diferente sobre por qu\u00e9 y a qui\u00e9n publicamos nuestros hallazgos.
