Sin embargo, la raz\u00f3n por la que estudia este campo va un poco m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la ciencia.<\/p>\n<p>La madre de Gabriela, Claudia Trevisan, padece esclerosis m\u00faltiple. Para comprobarlo, Gabriela est\u00e1 utilizando ratones que no pueden sentir dolor ya que tienen una deleci\u00f3n del gen del receptor TRPA1.<\/p>\n<p>Su experimento consiste en aplicar radicales libres en los ratones y ver si el TRPA1 se activa. Si se activa, significa que el TRPA1 est\u00e1 relacionado con los s\u00edntomas de la esclerosis m\u00faltiple.<\/p>\n<p>Si Gabriela est\u00e1 en lo cierto, la forma de tratar los s\u00edntomas de la escrutinio m\u00faltiple cambiar\u00e1 dr\u00e1sticamente. Junto con otras seis investigadoras, Gabriela gan\u00f3 el premio \"A las mujeres en la ciencia\". L'Oreal, la Unesco y la Academia Brasile\u00f1a de Ciencias concedieron a cada una de ellas una beca de 50 mil reales -cerca de 16 mil d\u00f3lares- para que contin\u00faen su trabajo.<\/p>\n<p>Se trata de una cantidad de dinero muy elevada para unos estudios tan brillantes. Sin embargo, no todos los investigadores tendr\u00e1n la misma oportunidad. Gabriela se\u00f1ala que la mayor\u00eda de las inversiones para estudios cient\u00edficos en Brasil provienen del gobierno brasile\u00f1o.
