La realidad no es buena. La mayor\u00eda de los hallazgos s\u00f3lo se registran en largos y aburridos documentos que nunca se leer\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

Mientras tanto, si alg\u00fan cient\u00edfico intenta encontrar im\u00e1genes para hacer sus descubrimientos un poco m\u00e1s visuales, tiene que conformarse con Google Images ya que es muy dif\u00edcil encontrar ilustraciones cient\u00edficas.<\/p>\n

Incluso las mejores revistas cient\u00edficas tienen problemas con la comunicaci\u00f3n visual. Nature es una de las mejores revistas de ciencia. De hecho, en Nature Reviews podemos encontrar muchos ejemplos de traducci\u00f3n de datos escritos a res\u00famenes gr\u00e1ficos. Sin embargo, algunos de ellos podr\u00edan mejorar.<\/p>\n

La necesidad de hacer la ciencia m\u00e1s visual se ve reflejada en la importancia que tienen los art\u00edculos con gr\u00e1ficos o diagramas. The Economist escribi\u00f3 sobre la verdad detr\u00e1s de \"Una imagen vale m\u00e1s que mil palabras\" diciendo que los gr\u00e1ficos y los diagramas de hecho generan m\u00e1s citas. Lo cual tiene mucho sentido si recordamos la cantidad de investigaciones que se publican cada d\u00eda y c\u00f3mo buscamos desesperadamente las cifras cada vez que leemos un nuevo art\u00edculo.<\/p>\n

Ciencia y comunicaci\u00f3n visual<\/h3>\n

Dado que la comunicaci\u00f3n visual en la ciencia es necesaria y que tenemos dificultades con las im\u00e1genes disponibles en Internet, se necesitaba una nueva herramienta.<\/p>\n

Mind the Graph se cre\u00f3 para satisfacer la demanda de ilustraciones cient\u00edficas precisas. Sin embargo, no pretendemos hacerlo por ellos. En cambio, queremos que los cient\u00edficos sean 100% capaces de construir sus propios res\u00famenes gr\u00e1ficos, p\u00f3sters, presentaciones e infograf\u00edas.<\/p>\n
