Es una suposici\u00f3n muy plausible y puede ser refrendada por nuestra rutina al leer un nuevo art\u00edculo. Lo primero que hacemos es comprobar el t\u00edtulo y el resumen. En segundo lugar, escudri\u00f1amos el art\u00edculo en busca de figuras autoexplicativas que nos ayuden a entender el estudio sin que nos cueste mucho tiempo.<br \/>\nPara algunas personas, tener la sensaci\u00f3n de tener buenas cifras no era suficiente. Necesitaban profundizar un poco m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Ese fue el caso de Bill Howe y algunos de sus colegas de la Universidad de Washington, en Seattle. Decidieron recopilar datos y hacer una investigaci\u00f3n sobre la importancia de las cifras a la hora de conseguir visibilidad para su art\u00edculo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/scientific-illustrations-maker\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5861 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mindthegraph.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/giphy-9.gif\" alt=\"buscador de figuras\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>El resultado corrobor\u00f3 la sensaci\u00f3n de que los art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos tienen buenas cifras. De hecho, encontraron una correlaci\u00f3n significativa entre el impacto cient\u00edfico y el uso de informaci\u00f3n visual, en la que los art\u00edculos de mayor impacto tend\u00edan a incluir m\u00e1s diagramas. S\u00ed, es sorprendente tener por fin datos sobre un \"rumor popular\". Sin embargo, Howe y este equipo llevaron esta investigaci\u00f3n a un nuevo nivel.<\/p>\n<p>\u00bfRecuerdas la idea de un buscador de figuras? Pues bien, tras llegar a la conclusi\u00f3n de que las figuras, los diagramas, las fotograf\u00edas, los gr\u00e1ficos y las tablas tienen un papel importante en la comunicaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica, crearon un navegador de figuras.
