El hecho, inmediatamente gener\u00f3 preocupaci\u00f3n en la comunidad m\u00e9dico-cient\u00edfica internacional. En China, las autoridades sanitarias han tomado medidas de emergencia para contener la epidemia y han iniciado investigaciones epidemiol\u00f3gicas, microbiol\u00f3gicas y cl\u00ednicas para caracterizar r\u00e1pidamente la nueva enfermedad y permitir su control. El 7 de enero de 2020, los cient\u00edficos chinos anunciaron el aislamiento de un nuevo coronavirus de un paciente de Wuhan que inicialmente se denomin\u00f3 2019-nCoV. Los virus del&nbsp;<i>coronaviridae<\/i>&nbsp;pueden causar infecciones en animales vertebrados.
