Hvordan den videnskabelige verden udtrykker sig<\/h3>\n

Virkeligheden er ikke god. De fleste resultater bliver kun registreret i lange og kedelige artikler, som aldrig bliver l\u00e6st.<\/p>\n

Hvis en videnskabsmand i mellemtiden fors\u00f8ger at finde billeder til at g\u00f8re sine resultater lidt mere visuelle, m\u00e5 han n\u00f8jes med Google Images, da det er meget sv\u00e6rt at finde videnskabelige illustrationer.<\/p>\n

Selv de bedste videnskabelige tidsskrifter k\u00e6mper med visuel kommunikation. Nature er et af de bedste tidsskrifter inden for videnskab. Faktisk kan vi i Nature Reviews finde mange eksempler p\u00e5 overs\u00e6ttelse af skriftlige data til grafiske abstracts. Men nogle af dem kunne stadig bruge nogle forbedringer.<\/p>\n

Trangen til at g\u00f8re videnskaben mere visuel ses af den betydning, som artikler med grafer eller diagrammer har. The Economist skrev om sandheden bag \"A picture is worth a thousand words\" og sagde, at grafer og diagrammer faktisk genererer flere citationer. Det giver god mening, n\u00e5r man t\u00e6nker p\u00e5 den m\u00e6ngde forskning, der udgives hver dag, og hvordan vi fortvivlet leder efter tal, hver gang vi l\u00e6ser en ny artikel.<\/p>\n
