Selvom patogener udvikler sig til en mere modstandsdygtig form, har mennesker fundet en m\u00e5de at forbedre medicin p\u00e5 og redde mange liv. Men nogle af de nuv\u00e6rende sygdomme skr\u00e6mmer os stadig. P\u00e5 trods af forbedringer i de medicinske teknikker er kuren mod mange sygdomme stadig et mysterium. Dette er tilf\u00e6ldet med HIV.<\/p>\n<p>Forskere fra hele verden har fors\u00f8gt at afkode HIV-virussen for at forst\u00e5, hvordan vi kan bek\u00e6mpe den. Historien fort\u00e6ller os, at denne lovende by \u00e6ndrede sig med jernbanebyggeri og sexarbejdere - to transportformer, som HIV-virussen fandt ud af at sprede sig med.<\/p>\n<p>Oprindeligt findes der to typer af HIV-virus: HIV-1 gruppe M og HIV-1 gruppe O. HIV-1 gruppe M var den, der blev spredt fra Kinshasa til resten af verden. Han er fokuseret p\u00e5 forskellene mellem grupperne, og hvordan det kan afg\u00f8re virussens n\u00e6ste skridt.<\/p>\n<p>At opdage HIV's fortid kan v\u00e6re svaret p\u00e5 at \u00e6ndre fremtiden for denne virus.
