Genafspilning af neural aktivitet ser ud til at v\u00e6re grundlaget for flere former for hukommelse.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Cohens team registrerede hjerneb\u00f8lger fra 33 raske, h\u00f8jreh\u00e5ndede deltagere, mens de testede en kode med deres venstre h\u00e5nd ved hj\u00e6lp af en meget f\u00f8lsom scanning kaldet magnetoencefalografi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fors\u00f8gspersonerne fik cifrene 41234, som blev vist p\u00e5 en sk\u00e6rm i 10 sekunder, og de blev bedt om at skrive koden ned s\u00e5 mange gange, de kunne, i 10 sekunder efterfulgt af en pause p\u00e5 10 sekunder. De gentog processen 35 gange, hvor de skiftevis \u00f8vede og hvilede.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Efter dette eksperiment fandt de ud af, at fors\u00f8gspersonens evne til at skrive koden korrekt forbedredes betydeligt og derefter stagnerede efter det 11. fors\u00f8g.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ved hj\u00e6lp af et s\u00e6rligt computerprogram udviklet af teamet kunne de bestemme, hvordan hjernen behandler hvert af testtallene.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En meget hurtigere version af hjerneaktiviteten under skrivning blev afspejlet under pauser, som vist af programmet; det var omkring 20 gange hurtigere end det, der blev set under skrivning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Der skete en to- til tredobling af aktiviteten, efter at eksperimenterne var afsluttet. Hyppigere gentagelser resulterede i hurtigere pr\u00e6stationsspring end mindre hyppige gentagelser i fors\u00f8gspersonernes hjerner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I alle de unders\u00f8gte v\u00e5gne hvileperioder var der neurale gentagelser af hele den tr\u00e6nede sekvens. Derimod var der en forskel i detektionsraten i forhold til afspilningens varighed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resultaterne af unders\u00f8gelsen viste, at genafspilningsaktiviteten oftest var lokaliseret i hjernens sensomotoriske regioner, den del af hjernen, der regulerer bev\u00e6gelse. Desuden spiller hippocampus og den entorhinale cortex ogs\u00e5 en rolle i afspilningen af minder.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resultaterne viser tilstedev\u00e6relsen af hippocampus-neocorticale gentagelser, der bidrager til den hurtige konsolidering af f\u00e6rdigheder i v\u00e5gen tilstand. Dette var det mest overraskende element i unders\u00f8gelsen.
