Podle N\u00e1rodn\u00edch akademi\u00ed, \"<em>V pr\u016fb\u011bhu milion\u016f let se oxid uhli\u010dit\u00fd ve vzduchu spojuje s de\u0161\u0165ovou vodou a vytv\u00e1\u0159\u00ed slab\u00e9 kyseliny, kter\u00e9 velmi pomalu rozpou\u0161t\u011bj\u00ed horniny.<\/em> \u0158eky a potoky odn\u00e1\u0161ej\u00ed tyto miner\u00e1ly do oce\u00e1n\u016f, kde je \u017eivo\u010dichov\u00e9 vyu\u017e\u00edvaj\u00ed k tvorb\u011b kor\u00e1lov\u00fdch \u00fates\u016f a mu\u0161l\u00ed a pom\u00e1haj\u00ed vyrovn\u00e1vat pH oce\u00e1nu. V celosv\u011btov\u00e9m m\u011b\u0159\u00edtku se teploty v roce 2018 za\u0159adily za teploty v letech 2016, 2017 a 2015.
